9 Months Part II

I did her 9 month post too soon and hadn't gotten her 9 month check up yet! I don't have her papers around, but here are estimates:
19.5 pounds, in the 50% range
29 inches, in the upper 80% range
Head circ was in the upper 80%, not sure how big!

Still tall and skinny with a big head, just like daddy;)

A big update...she started crawling at 9 1/2 months old!! Yay! Finally. Once she got going she was really proficient at it really quick. 

She is also starting to talk with real words, signs 2 signs (dog and nurse) and understands a lot of words. My new favorite is asking her where the light is and seeing her look up and point at the light. She is such a little talker, and is always "talking" and pointing at everything. At about the time she started crawling she also suddenly started eating. She'll eat almost anything now (even cat food lol!)...carrots, broccoli, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, apples, avocado, grapes, strawberries, blueberries, chicken, steak, barbacoa, beans, chili, oatmeal, cucumber, tomato, banana....and I can't even think of what else :)

9 Months Old

Karis is 9 months old. WOW! She has now been alive outside of the womb for as long as she was inside the womb! The 9 months with her sure have been faster than the pregnancy :)  She is such a sweetheart and I love every moment with her! It is so fun to watch her develop and grow and see her own unique personality evolve. Here are some of the things she has started doing in the 9th month:

She gives kisses! When you ask for a kiss she leans in and puts her open, slobbery mouth on you(or more often on the dog or cat!).

She plays Peek A Boo on her own! We used to put something over her head and ask "where's Karis?" then pull it off and say "there she is!". Then she started pulling it off on her own. But now she will find a towel or piece of clothing, lift it so it's covering her face (or she lifts it too high so it's above her head, which is even funnier!) then quickly pulls it down while smiling when we say "there she is!". So. Incredibly. Cute.

But she can sometimes pull to a stand. And she sure is mobile. She always gets to where she wants to go, just not by crawling! Stubborn little baby ;)

Starting to like some food. She likes tomato and apples. Loves my smoothies. And will eat a little bit of avocado and sweet potato. Still only consumes less than an ounce of "real" food a day though.

She has 4 teeth that are about to surface.

I *think* she just started waving, but I am not completely convinced even though other people have told me that she is.

She understands the signs for milk, sleep/nap, car/driving, poopy, and diaper change.

Karis's First Christmas
